Workers' Compensation and Job Searches

Under current Michigan law, an injured worker has an obligation to make a good faith search for work within his restrictions. McCroskey Law's workers' compensation team strongly encourages all of its workers' compensation clients to look for work. It is equally important to document your job search, and your McCroskey Law attorney can provide you with job search worksheets.

Historically, an injured worker could receive workers' compensation benefits if he was unable to do his personal job. However, a workers' right to wage loss benefits has changed significantly over the years. Currently, in order to receive a weekly wage loss check, an injured worker must show that he is unable to perform any work within his training and qualifications that pays his highest wage rate.
