Bicycle Accidents

Michigander’s love the outdoors and bicycling or cycling around the city or beautiful countryside is a wonderful way to spend a day but be sure to keep a close eye out for motorists as they are often not looking out for you. According to Michigan Traffic Facts, in the year 2012 1,981 auto accidents involved a bicycle; with 1,598 injuries and 20 deaths. The unfortunate truth is motorists are not as aware as they should be. So when out on your bike make sure to you are visible; use clear hand signals when turning and use reflective clothing with rear and front lights when riding in the evening or early morning. Motorists are often mistaken that they have the right of way when encountering bicyclists or cyclist which is simply not true. Cyclists have every right to the roadway, so if a driver violates that right you need an attorney with experience and understanding to fight for your legal rights.

McCroskey Law has experience representing cyclist who have been injured by negligent motorists. McCroskey Law attorney Bob Chessman is an avid cyclists and fully understands the extreme attitudes of some drivers towards cyclists and the laws meant to protect cyclists. So when that sunny day summons you to your bicycle, don’t hesitate to ride it knowing that if an accident happens that should not have happened, McCroskey Law is there for you with experienced, understanding and compassionate representation.
